Ballet Dancing – An Overview
Ballet Dancing was invented during the Renaissance period in the 1600s. Ballet Dancing was originally developed in Italy. After that, it was spread to other countries such as France, and England.
In the beginning, this type of dance was used as a way to express fencing in Italy. The ballet dance was performed in the French court during the 17th century. The ballet dance declined during the early 19th century in France. Despite that, the ballet dance revived in Denmark, and Russia.
During the early years, ballet dance performance was presented on the proscenium stage. The viewers sit on the seats in the second and third stories to watch the ballet performance below. The ballet dance is performed with classical music playing in the background. After it was spread to other countries in Europe, many ballet schools were established.
There are three types of ballets including classical, neoclassical, and contemporary. Classical is performed by using the traditional ballet technique. The classical ballet has many variations. Each classical ballet variation is stemmed from a different country including Russia, French and Italy.
